Privacy Policy

VSCRL LLC ("VSCRL", "we") operates vscrl.co. This page explains what we collect on this site, why, and what we do with it. Short version: we collect what you send us so we can reply, plus anonymous traffic stats. We don't sell anything about you to anyone.

What we collect

• Contact form: the email address you submit, and anything you write in the message, so we can respond to your inquiry. Category under California law: identifiers.
• Voicemail: the voicemail button asks your browser for microphone access and records only while it's running. We only ever receive the text transcript, never the audio. Nothing is sent until you press send, and you can discard a recording first. One thing worth knowing: the transcript is produced by your browser's own speech recognition, and in most browsers (including Chrome) that means the audio is sent to your browser's maker, such as Google or Apple, to be turned into text. That happens under their privacy policy, not ours, and it would happen with any site using this browser feature. If you'd rather not have that happen, use the contact form or email us instead. Category: audio-derived text you chose to send us.
• Analytics: anonymous, aggregated page-view data (pages visited, referrer, device type, country). No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers, no profiles. Category: internet activity, not linked to you.

We don't use cookies on this site, so there's no cookie banner to click. We don't knowingly collect anything from children under 13.

How we use it

To respond to you and to understand how people use the site. That's it. We don't use it for automated decision-making, and we don't build advertising profiles.

We do not sell or share your personal information

VSCRL has not sold or shared personal information in the past 12 months, and we don't do it now. That includes "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising as California defines it. Because we don't do it, there's nothing for you to opt out of, but if that ever changes we'll say so on this page and add a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link before it happens.

Service providers

• Vercel hosts the site and provides our privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel privacy policy).
• Formspree processes contact-form and voicemail submissions and delivers them to our inbox (Formspree privacy policy).

Retention and deletion

Inquiries stay in our email for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, so we can pick a conversation back up where it left off. After that we delete them in our routine cleanup. Analytics data is aggregated and is kept by Vercel for up to 12 months. Want something deleted sooner? Email us and we'll remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it
• Correct it if it's wrong
• Delete it
• Opt out of sale or sharing (as above, we don't do either)
• Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

If you're in the EU or UK, our legal basis for handling your inquiry is our legitimate interest in responding to you, and for analytics it's our legitimate interest in understanding site usage without tracking you. You also have the right to object to processing, to request portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of this, email alec@vscrl.co. We'll verify your request by replying to the address we have on file and respond within 45 days. There's no charge, and you can use an authorized agent.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Inquiries live in our business email accounts, which are protected by access controls and multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we don't hold sensitive categories of data here.
